Georgia is a successful marketing exec for a hot app developer. While her career may be on an upward trajectory, her dating life certainly isn’t. When her ultra-hot billionaire boss asks her to be his date to a professional function one night, her luck seems to have turned. The only problem is that at the same time she seems to have met a prospect through her company’s dating app.Kline is a self-made billionaire that doesn’t have time for romance. So when he’s in a pinch and needs a date to a charity fundraiser, he asks the first person he sees, his ad exec, Georgia. The two have had an excellent working relationship in the two years Georgia has been with the company, but in that minute, Kline sees her for the beauty she really is. She accepts and the two embark on a whirlwind romance. The couple are met with a bounty of challenges, Georgia’s virginity and Kline’s cat Walter, to name a couple, but also the fact that Kline himself has met someone through his company’s dating app. Soon the app causes awkwardness between them, but Kline has a secret he’s keeping from Georgia, will his failure to come clean be the end of their relationship?Unfortunately I’m over the over the top books that seem to be the “in” thing right now. I like humor and quick wit but many of the “humorous” moments were groan-worthy and cheesy. I really wanted to love this story and there were several things I did like, but the big plot twist was lame, and the resulting drama also felt overly angsty. And the sex scenes…it’s rare that I just skim, but one can only read so many before they get bored and there were a few that I skipped for the most part.I will continue with the series though, the story was well written and there were things I liked about the characters, I just wish it weren’t quite so silly in their delivery. 3.5/5 starsTapping the Billionaire is the first book in the Bad Boy Billionaires series. It is an adult contemporary romance, which is heavy on humor. The narrators are Georgia (26) and Kline (the billionaire, 34).Who is Max Monroe is one of the biggest questions amongst romance readers. Normally a billionaire book would not appeal to me (I am not a fan of books that are all sex with less plot). But I wanted to see what everybody was talking about. So when the book went on sale I did not hesitate to pick it up.I was not a big fan of the intro because to me it was too graphic and it gave away too much of the story. I am the type of person who hates knowing the ending before I start a book.Kline owns Brooks Media and a dating app called Tapnext. Both of these companies are very integral to the story. This book is light and funny. And I enjoyed that aspect of the book immensely.I really liked both Georgia and Kline. I can't decide if I liked the Tapnext part of the story. It was fun at times. But also a bit too much. The first part of this book had way too much sex for my taste. I suspected that would be the case. But interestingly from 60% on there was more story and less sex.I never start a new book until I am finished my previous book. However I stopped reading this book at 60% to pick up a new release. And I ended up not finishing it for 2 weeks. This book is charming and fun. However, I am not a huge fan of misunderstandings and needless conflict.Interestingly, the epilogue was from two new POVs. Interesting idea. I think I would like to try the novella #1.5 and book #2 (with 2 different narrators).
